FIRESTONE, D. Morgan, 1930 - 2009, former president of the Toronto North York Hunt, died at home on January 13, 2009, peacefully, with strength and dignity. Father of Amy (Goodrich), David, Jeff, Debbie and Cindy. Husband of Julie (nee Gibson). Morgan had a remarkable life filled with generosity and kindness. Born in Akron, Ohio, he became a proud Canadian in the 1970's. A passionate sportsman and accomplished entrepreneur, Morgan continued his mother's love and legacy of horse racing through Firestone Farms.

Morgan believed that from those who were given much, much was expected, and demonstrated this through his remarkable philanthropy to many causes. Morgan left our world having made it a better place.

The Toronto North York Hunt Club would like to congratulate D. Morgan Firestone (former president of this organization) on his horse's victory in the Queen's Plate on Sunday June 24th at Woodbine Racetrack. Three-year-old colt, Mike Fox, won by half a length over Alezzandro.
